We stayed a Thursday - Monday with 2 adults and 2 children in a two-bedroom suite. The rooms were so quiet and clean. The atmosphere was perfect for either a couple or a family traveling with young kids. The breakfast was delicious and the service was excellent. The location is perfect for jumping on the free bus to Acadia parks or Bar Harbor downtown, or for driving to the activities. We all loved our stay and would love to come back again.
We absolutely loved our stay at the Bar Harbor Hotel! The styling is so fun, yet everything was still functional and useful. The location was convenient to Acadia. There were even hiking trails from the property that led to the park. They had fun events for kids throughout the week. The breakfast was phenomenal, and we were so very thankful for some gluten free options! Thank you for thinking of those who require special diets. If you are considering this hotel, you will not regret booking!
We loved our stay at the Bar Harbor Motel. We were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade upon arrival, our kids loved the retro theme, and the motel grounds and activities were great. We appreciated the peanut free options included with breakfast and the location on Mount Desert Island for ease of getting around. Definitely recommend.
Great motel. Nice clean retro style rooms. All kept well and clean. We noticed that the sheets and towels were very white, soft and clean. Would have given a 5 stars but the included breakfast had issues. All hot food was cold. Serving trays don’t keep it hot. Not even warm. Eggs were instant and not much flavor. Bacon was thin, fatty. Uncooked and cold. Sausage was cold and not cooked enough. This area needs immediate attention. Location was great, close to downtown but no parking available. Recommend you take the free shuttle bus that stops out front the motel and runs on the half hour.
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS MOTEL!!! This was the cleanest motel, most helpful staff, best place we stayed on our whole vacation. The breakfast was delicious. I especially loved how it was nestled in the woods and extremely quiet. The motel offers tons of activities on the grounds. Their attention to the tiny details is unmatched. Did I mention the retro decor……so cute! Thanks for a wonderful stay. We will be back!
This is hands down the best place to stay while visiting Acadia! The staff are warm and welcoming, the rooms are spotless, and the breakfast—delicious and included with your stay—is a perfect start to the day. The entire property is clean, quiet, and incredibly convenient. You can literally step right off the back of the motel and walk straight into Acadia National Park. We couldn’t have asked for a better home base for our trip—highly recommend! This place made our first visit to Maine truly memorable.
Great motel for a family trip. Rooms are small but very clean and have everything you might need for a short stay. The location is great, close to Bar Harbor and other attractions. Breakfast consist of scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages, cereals, pancakes, yogurts, jams and fruits. They also have wide selection of pastry. Overall, recommended!
Visited September 2025 4 adults & a baby Loved this place! Awesome location, comfy and super clean rooms, and a good breakfast in a really cool retro-style lobby. The whole place has such a nice vibe. They also offer activities (we didn’t get a chance to try them). Everyone at the front desk was super friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend!
